The BMW 435i F32 / F33 / F36 exhaust in detail.
F32 coupé, F33 convertible or F36 Gran Coupé: from 2014 to 2016, the 435i receives the N55, a 3.0-litre direct-injection inline-six boosted by a single twin-scroll turbo, for 306 hp and 400 Nm. According to the guide, the 440i that succeeded it with the B58 shares the same system but has its own page, as does the four-cylinder 430i.
The N55 sings with a round, continuous voice, with the smoothness typical of inline-sixes, free of vibration or jolts. Behind the 4 Series’ factory exhaust, however, this song stays confined under the bonnet, far from what a coupé of this standing promises. With the valves open, our cat-back lets you hear the six-cylinder from end to end, a hushed rumble at idle, a silky climb and crackles on the overrun; with the valves closed, your 435i becomes a discreet grand tourer again.
Whether your 435i is a coupé, convertible or Gran Coupé, fitting does not change: clamps, gaskets, no welding and about two hours in the workshop, with the factory control retained if it exists and a Rog remote otherwise.
The “Manifold” option sells the N55’s downpipe, which contains the catalytic converter; without an ECU remap, it adds voice and removes a little weight, nothing more. The 200-cell sports catalytic converter maintains the N55’s emissions control for the road; the 100-cell is accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country; the decat version is reserved for track use. This valved cat-back suits the style of each body, in discreet 304 stainless steel or in titanium around 40% lighter, in brushed, gold or purple.

Questions about the BMW 435i F32 / F33 / F36 3.0T exhaust.
Does a 435i registered in 2013 fall under this page?
The page covers 2014 to 2016 and does not include the 2013 model year; send us your 4 Series’ VIN, and we check compatibility before manufacturing.
What figures for a 435i at Stage 2?
With a downpipe and a map from an approved tuner, the published figures are 368 hp and 557 Nm; the cat-back alone requires no work on the ECU.
Are there any precautions to take with a 435i at the vehicle inspection?
Just one, close the valves to return to a level close to stock; emissions control is maintained with the cat-back alone or the 200-cell downpipe, the 100-cell one is accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is reserved for track use.
435i or 440i: should I order the same system?
The guide presents a single system for both engines, across all three body styles; each nonetheless keeps its own page, and your VIN lets us confirm the exact version before manufacturing.
In the F33 convertible, can you hear the six-cylinder more?
With the roof open, the N55’s voice reaches you directly: valves open for country roads, valves closed to cross a village with complete discretion.
BMW 435i F32 / F33 / F36 3.0T: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
BMW 435i F32 / F33 / F36 3.0T: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
