The BMW M440i G22 / G23 exhaust in detail.
The M440i G22 coupé derives directly from the M340i saloon: the same 3.0-litre B58, twin-scroll turbo, 374 hp and 500 Nm (392 hp, 540 Nm since 11/2025) available very early, and according to the guide the same Rog system. This page covers the G22 coupé and the G23 convertible, delivered since 2021: both take the same system. As for the four-door G26 Gran Coupé, it has a separate page and takes the same system.
In this long, low coupé, the inline-six revs with the smoothness of a great sports car, but the factory exhaust, designed for passenger comfort, keeps it at a distance. Open the valves on our cat-back: start-up announces itself, the climb through the revs becomes crisp and clear crackles on the overrun accompany every downshift. Close them, and the M440i returns to the discretion of a grand tourer for long distances.
Your mechanic will have nothing to weld under this coupé: the exhaust, bent to match the VIN, connects with clamps and gaskets in about two hours, and the drive modes stay in control of the factory valves, with the Rog remote taking over on cars that have none.
The “Manifold” option sells the B58’s downpipe, where the catalytic converter sits at the turbo outlet; without an ECU remap, it brings sound and a little lightness, not power. For an M440i used as an everyday grand tourer, the 200-cell catalysed downpipe leaves emissions control intact; the 100-cell is accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is reserved for track use. This valved cat-back can be ordered in 304 stainless steel or in titanium around 40% lighter, with three colours to choose from.

Questions about the BMW M440i B58 G22 / G23 3.0T exhaust.
Can a 2022 M440i G22 or a G23 convertible be equipped?
Yes. The G22 coupé and the G23 convertible take the same Rog system, like the M340i G20 saloon, with the same B58 and the same clamp-and-gasket fitting. Your VIN is only used to confirm the model year before manufacturing.
Does the M440i coupé reach the same figures as the M340i in Stage 2?
Yes, with the same B58: the page publishes 440 hp and 620 Nm with a downpipe and an ECU remap at an approved tuner, whereas the cat-back alone makes do with the factory map.
BMW M440i B58 G22 3.0T with a Rog exhaust: what should you know about vehicle inspection?
With the cat-back only or the 200-cell sports catalytic converter, emissions control is retained: present the car with the valves closed. The 100-cell brings more sound and flow, and whether it is accepted at the emissions test depends on the car and local rules; the decat version is intended for track use.
Do the M440i G22 coupé and the M340i G20 saloon really share an exhaust?
According to the guide, yes, since the coupé derives directly from the saloon; each car keeps its own page, and your VIN confirms compatibility before manufacturing.
On an M440i G22 coupé, does titanium bring more than a colour?
304 stainless steel gives the B58 a full, round tone; titanium, around 40% lighter for the same design, brightens the note at high revs and signs off the rear of the coupé in a brushed, gold or purple finish.
Does the M440i G26 Gran Coupé take the same system?
Yes. The G26 Gran Coupé takes the same Rog system as the G22 coupé and the G23 convertible: same B58, same rear section, same clamp-and-gasket fitting. It is presented on its own page; your VIN is only used to confirm the model year before manufacturing.
BMW M440i B58 G22 / G23 3.0T: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
BMW M440i B58 G22 / G23 3.0T: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
