    BMWX1 F48

The BMW X1 B48 F48 exhaust in detail.

The X1 F48 is BMW’s compact SUV, practical and versatile, cut out for town as well as weekend getaways. In B48 form, for the 2016 to 2019 model years, it gets a 2.0-litre direct-injection four-cylinder with a twin-scroll turbo, from BMW’s modular engine family. According to the table on the page, it delivers 192 hp and 280 Nm, or 231 hp and 350 Nm in its most powerful version. Its sporty successor, the X1 M35i U11, has a different system presented on another page.

On a four-cylinder installed in a family SUV, the factory exhaust has only one mission: to make you forget the engine. Yet the B48 has a deep, even tone, with a hint of roughness when the turbo starts to push. With the valves open, our cat-back gives the start-up presence and accompanies every acceleration with a round note, without aggressiveness; with the valves closed, the X1 becomes the discreet SUV of family journeys again.

Fitting needs no welding: clamps, gaskets, about two hours, with a system built to your VIN. The valves follow the factory control if your X1 has one, otherwise the Rog remote, whose unit slips into the boot, among the luggage.

This page sells a cat-back only, with no front section option: the engine and ECU stay standard, and the system changes the voice and the weight at the rear, without adding horsepower. For an SUV facing winters and mountain car parks, 304 stainless steel is the safest choice; titanium, around 40% lighter for the same design, can be ordered in brushed, gold or purple.

    Questions about the BMW X1 B48 F48 2.0T exhaust.

Can a facelifted X1 F48, built after 2019, be equipped?

The 2020 to 2022 X1s do not appear on our page, nor do those from 2015; a VIN lets us check your SUV with no obligation.

Does an X1 B48 need an ECU remap to fit the system?

No ECU remap is needed, the SUV keeps its factory engine management; the 280 hp and 410 Nm published in Stage 2 for the 192 hp version assume a far more extensive tune than a cat-back, carried out by an approved tuner.

BMW X1 B48 F48 2.0T with a Rog exhaust: what should you know about vehicle inspection?

With the valves closed, the SUV regains its stock discretion; this cat-back only replaces the rear section of the exhaust, with the rest of the factory system and the engine left unchanged.

Will the X1 drone on holiday journeys?

No: with the valves closed, the gases pass through the cruising silencer and the cabin stays calm for the whole family; you open up only when you feel like it.

Does a family SUV need valves?

That is precisely what makes the system compatible with family use: a more present voice when you drive alone, the factory silence as soon as your passengers prefer peace and quiet.

    BMW X1 B48 F48 2.0T: straight pipe or resonator?

On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
