The Ferrari 296 GTB and GTS exhaust in detail.
Maranello nicknamed its V6 the “piccolo V12”, and the nickname is well earned: with a 120-degree vee, paired with an electric motor and high-mounted exhaust outlets, it gives the 296 a high-pitched, screaming tone reminiscent of the glory days, for 830 hp and 740 Nm in total. Both the GTB berlinetta and the open-top GTS are on this page, for cars built since 2021, with each one checked by VIN before manufacturing.
Hybridisation and regulations keep part of that potential in check. With the valves open, the Rog cat-back takes the nickname all the way: harmonics unlocked, stronger presence at high revs, high-mounted tailpipes that sing. With the valves closed, and even more so in electric mode, the 296 keeps its refinement and discretion.
Behind this V6’s turbos, the catalysed downpipe is replaced under the “Manifold” option. It takes an ECU remap to turn it into power, and our data then puts the 296 at 950 hp and 840 Nm at Stage 2; without a map, the part works on sound and mass, and with 200 cells the catalytic converter keeps doing its job.
Band clamps and gaskets, no welding, about two hours on a lift: the hybrid architecture is not touched. If the 296 has factory valves, the system retains their control; otherwise, the Rog remote decides. And since the 296 hunts down weight, titanium, around 40% lighter than 304 stainless steel for the same design, is often the obvious choice, in brushed, gold or purple.

Questions about the Ferrari 296 GTB / GTS V6 Hybrid exhaust.
Is the system the same for the 296 GTB and the 296 GTS?
Yes, our page covers both body styles of the 296, berlinetta and convertible, from 2021 onwards. The VIN, checked before manufacturing, confirms your car’s compatibility.
Downpipe and map on the 296’s piccolo V12: what does the page publish?
A hundred and twenty horsepower more than the combined 830 hp as standard: 950 hp and 840 Nm in Stage 2, according to our page. The cat-back alone leaves the hybrid management intact.
What is needed to present a 296 with a Rog system at vehicle inspection?
Closed valves, which bring the car back to stock restraint, and an original or 200-cell front section, which keeps the catalytic converter active. The 100-cell is assessed according to the car and the rules in your country, which accept it or not; in decat form, the 296 is reserved for track use.
Is the 296’s electric mode preserved?
Completely: as long as the V6 is not running, no gas passes through the system. The valves only come into play when the combustion engine wakes up, and it is then you who chooses between discretion and full voice.
Ferrari 296 GTB / GTS V6 Hybrid: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
