Configuration
Ferrari 360 Modena / 360 Spider V8 3.6 Valved Exhaust System (2003-2005)
Valves
Operated by remote control, factory-paired.
Estimated at 0.50 m from the outlet, 45°, 2,000 rpm with a warm engine. Allow ± 2 dB depending on the engine and measuring point. A 3 dB difference is audible in a direct comparison; 10 dB sounds roughly twice as loud.

The Ferrari 360 Modena / 360 Spider exhaust in detail.
With no turbo to mask anything, the 360’s 3.6-litre V8 owes its voice to itself alone: a flat crankshaft, revs climbing to around 8,500 rpm, a high-pitched scream that became Maranello’s signature. The factory exhaust, designed to the standards of its time, still holds back a large part of it. With the valves open, the valved Rog cat-back lets the high harmonics through and turns every gear taken to the limit into a small event; with the valves closed, the berlinetta returns to a level close to stock for early-morning departures.
This system is designed for the Ferrari 360 with the V8 3.6, for the 2003 to 2005 model years covered by our page, the first Ferrari with an all-aluminium structure: 400 hp and 373 Nm from the factory. The more recent 430 Scuderia has its own page. The 360 Spider takes the same system as the Modena; for an older car, send us your VIN: we check before starting manufacturing.
Under the 360’s aluminium body, the exhaust is attached with clamps and gaskets, without welding or cutting, in about two hours for a workshop equipped with a lift. For control, the exhaust uses the factory control if your 360 has factory valves; otherwise the Rog remote, a box housed in the boot and two buttons, opens and closes on demand.
On the 360, the front section corresponds to the pipes placed just after the manifolds, with the catalytic converter; the page offers them under the “Manifold” option. On a naturally aspirated engine, their design affects cylinder filling at high revs: the gain is real but modest, 3 to 8%, and only appears with an ECU remap, while the 200-cell version keeps emissions control. That leaves the choice of material, which matters on a berlinetta of this age: robust 304 stainless steel, or titanium around 40% lighter for the same design and finished in brushed, gold or purple.

Questions about the Ferrari 360 Modena / Spider 3.6 V8 exhaust.
My 360 Modena predates 2003: can the system suit it?
Our page covers the 2003 to 2005 model years, with 400 hp. For an older car, nothing is stated in advance: the VIN lets us confirm compatibility before any manufacturing.
Once the exhaust is in place, does the 360 need a session on the remapping dyno?
Not for the cat-back, which leaves the ECU as it is. With the sports front pipes, it is a different story: an approved tuner can then aim for the 445 hp and 420 Nm published for Stage 2 on the 360, 45 hp more than the factory 400 hp.
How should a modified Ferrari 360 be presented at vehicle inspection?
Close the valves before entering the testing centre: the 360 returns to a sound level close to stock. As long as the original front pipes or their 200-cell version stay in place, the catalytic converter does its job. A set of 100-cell pipes will be accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and a decat 360 is reserved for track use.
Are the front pipes worth it on the 360’s naturally aspirated V8?
For the sound, the cat-back already does most of the work. The sports front pipes are aimed at those who remap: on this non-turbo V8, expect a modest gain, 3 to 8% depending on the car, rather than a transformation in performance.
Does the 360 Spider take the same system as the Modena?
Yes. The 360 Modena and the 360 Spider take the same Rog system: same chassis, same 3.6-litre V8, same clamp-and-gasket fitting. Your VIN is only used to confirm the version and model year before manufacturing.
Does a valved 360 drone on the motorway?
No, as long as the valves stay closed: the flow then passes through the silencer chambers, designed for cruising, and the 360’s V8 goes unnoticed at 130 km/h. The valves open when you decide, leaving the toll booth or on a mountain pass.
