    MaseratiGhibli M157

The Maserati Ghibli M157 V6 3.0 exhaust in detail.

The Ghibli M157’s 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 has noble blood: depending on the generation, it is assembled in Maranello or derived from the MC20’s Nettuno pre-chamber technology. From 2014 to 2023, it comes in outputs from 330 to 430 hp and from 500 to 580 Nm depending on the version, with a warm, brassy natural sound.

The factory exhaust, tuned for regulations, holds back a significant part of it, so the saloon sounds well-behaved. With the valves open, the Rog valved cat-back gives it back an assertive Italian tone, an expressive climb and crisp crackles on the overrun; with the valves closed, the Ghibli regains the discretion of a prestige saloon. We build to your VIN and check it before production.

No welding: clamps, gaskets and about two hours under the saloon, then valve control carried over from the factory if the Ghibli has it, or handed to the two-button Rog remote.

Just after its turbos, the Ghibli hides a downpipe carrying the catalytic converter, and the page replaces it under the “Manifold” option. As long as the map stays stock, this part only acts on voice and mass; with an ECU remap, the 430 hp version reaches the 527 hp and 730 Nm published at Stage 2. For a prestige saloon driven all year round, the 200-cell downpipe is the one that keeps emissions control, the 100-cell will be accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is reserved for track use, an exceptional use for a Ghibli. At the four round tips, 304 stainless steel gives a warm grain, titanium a clearer tone and around 40% less weight.

Questions about the Maserati Ghibli M157 V6 3.0 exhaust.

Do all Ghibli M157 V6s, from 330 to 430 hp, receive the same exhaust?

Yes: from 330 to 430 hp, every Ghibli V6 3.0 from 2014 to 2023 falls within the coverage of our parts, which do not list individual trim names; your VIN is therefore checked before manufacturing.

When does an ECU remap become worthwhile on the Ghibli M157 V6?

As soon as the downpipe is replaced: the map then turns that flow into horsepower, up to the 527 hp and 730 Nm published for the 430 hp version. With the cat-back alone, it adds nothing essential.

Does the Ghibli M157 V6 fitted with the system need its original exhaust back for the vehicle inspection?

No: simply closing the valves, with an original or 200-cell downpipe, is enough for the saloon to regain its discretion and an active catalytic converter. With 100 cells, the outcome varies with the car and the country; in decat form, the Ghibli stays on the track.

Who operates the valves on a modified Ghibli M157 V6?

The Ghibli’s driving modes, if it has factory valves: the system retains their control. Without factory valves, it is the Rog remote, whose unit sits in the saloon’s boot.

Maserati Ghibli M157 V6 3.0: Does a valved exhaust system drone?

No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.

Maserati Ghibli M157 V6 3.0: straight pipe or resonator?

On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
