The Maserati Quattroporte M156 exhaust in detail.

The Quattroporte M156, built from 2013 to 2024, is Maserati’s large saloon, offered with both V6 and V8 engines. For its core version, our data lists 350 hp and 500 Nm, drawn from a turbo V6 with a warm, brassy tone, which the factory exhaust, calibrated for emissions standards, largely holds back.

With the valves open, the Rog valved cat-back brings back that Italian temperament: an expressive climb, an assertive tone, crackles on the overrun. With the valves closed, the Quattroporte regains the discretion of a prestige saloon, the one for business meetings and long journeys. As this page brings together several engines, your VIN is always checked before manufacturing.

Fitting takes about two hours, without welding, with clamps and gaskets; the factory valve control is kept if the saloon has one, otherwise the Rog remote, with its unit in the boot, replaces it.

A downpipe carrying the catalytic converter follows the V6’s turbo, and it is this part that the page offers to replace under the “Manifold” option. Fitted on a saloon that has stayed stock, it only affects voice and weight; with an ECU remap, it becomes a lever for power depending on the tuning. A business saloon driven every day will keep the 200-cell version and its emissions control; the 100-cell version will be judged according to the car and the rules in your country, and the decat part is only for track use, which concerns few Quattroportes. The exhaust is then chosen in 304 stainless steel, which keeps the V6’s brassy grain, or in titanium, around 40% lighter.

Questions about the Maserati Quattroporte M156 V6 / V8 exhaust.

Quattroporte M156 V8 or V6: is the same order right for both?

The page covers both V6 and V8 but only lists figures for a 350 hp version; so it is your saloon’s VIN, checked before manufacturing, that confirms the right system.

Does an equipped Quattroporte M156 need to see a tuner?

Not for the cat-back, which is compatible with the factory management; with the downpipe, an approved tuner turns the flow into power, depending on the engine and the tuning.

For the vehicle inspection, what should be kept on a modified Quattroporte M156?

An original or 200-cell downpipe, for an active catalytic converter, and closed valves for the discretion of a stock saloon. A Quattroporte with 100 cells will fall under the rules in your country, and a decat Quattroporte does not leave the track.

Does the Quattroporte M156 fitted with the system remain a discreet business saloon?

Yes, with the valves closed: it keeps its calm in town as on the motorway. The Italian temperament only comes through when you open them, via the factory control or the Rog remote.

    Maserati Quattroporte M156 V6 / V8: Does a valved exhaust system drone?

No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
