    Mercedes-AMGS63 W223

    The Mercedes-AMG S63 W223 / V223 exhaust in detail.

The S63 AMG W223, on sale since 2023, stays faithful to Affalterbach’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, with turbos in the vee and assembly by a single engine builder. For a limousine of this rank, power has never been lacking; it is the voice that has been sacrificed. Your VIN lets us confirm the exact version before manufacturing, an important point on such a recent model.

The particulate filter and oversized silencers have made a V8 known for its thunder polite. With the valves open, the Rog cat-back restores its deep, rolling rumble, punctuated by crisp bangs on the overrun; with the valves closed, the S-Class becomes the hushed lounge its passengers expect. The S63 C217 coupés of previous generations each have their own page.

The valved system fits in about two hours, clamps and gaskets, without welding. If the limousine has factory valves, their control is retained; failing that, the Rog remote takes care of it, with a discreet unit in the boot.

For this limousine, the front part sold under the “Manifold” option is the catalysed downpipe placed behind the turbos. The 200-cell keeps emissions control and suits a road-going limousine. On an everyday S-Class, the 100-cell remains an option to weigh up, since it will be accepted or not depending on the vehicle and your country’s rules, and the version without a catalytic converter, reserved for track use, obviously has no place. Power only increases with an ECU remap; without one, the part changes the voice and the weight. Finally, 304 stainless steel gives the V8 a full, deep note, titanium, around 40% lighter, a clearer one.

Questions about the Mercedes S63 AMG W223 / V223 exhaust.

Is the S63 W223 system compatible with every S63 since 2023?

The page is listed for the S63 AMG W223 since 2023, with no further detail on versions. We therefore check every order by VIN before manufacturing, to confirm your limousine’s exact compatibility.

Is an ECU remap needed after fitting on an S63 W223?

None for the cat-back: the limousine keeps its electronics exactly as they left the factory. If you add the downpipe, only an ECU remap at an approved tuner will turn that flow into power, with a result specific to the tuner.

Before the vehicle inspection of a modified S63 W223, what should be checked?

Closed valves and an original or 200-cell front section: the limousine stays hushed and its emissions control works. An S63 W223 fitted with a 100-cell downpipe will be accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country. The decat version, reserved for track use, does not go to the inspection.

Do passengers in a modified S63 W223 hear the system all the time?

No: as long as the valves stay closed, the rear lounge keeps its factory calm. The V8 only speaks up when you decide.

    Mercedes S63 AMG W223 / V223: Does a valved exhaust system drone?

No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
