The Porsche Panamera 970 V8 exhaust in detail.
The Panamera 970’s naturally aspirated 4.8-litre V8 has the right voice, 400 to 440 hp and 500 to 520 Nm depending on the version, but the factory exhaust keeps it to itself. Now a used car offering formidable value for money, this saloon has character under the bonnet; the standard exhaust conveys none of it. With the valves open, the Rog cat-back restores the connection with a deep, muscular rumble under load; with the valves closed, the family travels in calm.
This page covers the 970 saloon with the V8 4.8 engine throughout its production run, from 2009 to 2016. The page does not distinguish between S, 4S and GTS: for each of these versions, your VIN lets us check compatibility before manufacturing. The V6 3.6 version and the turbocharged Turbo of the 970.2 phase are covered on other pages.
For the front section, the page offers catalysed pipes under the “Manifold” option that take over from the V8’s manifolds. On this non-turbo V8, the gain remains modest, 3 to 8%, and requires an ECU remap; the 200-cell pipes keep emissions control.
About two hours on a lift, clamps and gaskets, no welding: the system is installed without modifying anything under the saloon. Factory valves are retained if the car has them, otherwise the Rog remote. Titanium, around 40% lighter than 304 stainless steel for the same design, comes in brushed, gold or purple, and its four round tips can be finished in chrome, gloss black or blued titanium.

Questions about the Porsche Panamera 970 4.8 V8 exhaust.
Panamera S, 4S or GTS 970: does this V8 system apply to them?
Our page gives the Panamera 970 4.8 without specifying S, 4S or GTS. So we do not automatically certify any sporting version: your car’s VIN lets us check before manufacturing.
Remapping the Panamera 970 V8 after sports front pipes: worthwhile?
On this naturally aspirated V8, the gain remains modest, in the order of 3 to 8%. Our sources publish Stage 2 figures that do not match, so we quote none; the cat-back alone works without a map.
Vehicle inspection: which Panamera 970 V8 configuration should be presented?
A car with its valves closed, with the original or 200-cell pipes: emissions control retained, sound close to stock. For 100-cell pipes, acceptance varies according to the car and the rules in your country; the decat Panamera only has a future on the track, the only use for which it is reserved.
How long does it take to fit out a Panamera 970 V8?
20 working days from order confirmation to delivery, with the system built for your car, then around two hours of fitting at the garage of your choice. Free, insured delivery.
Porsche Panamera 970 4.8 V8: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
Porsche Panamera 970 4.8 V8: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
