The Porsche Panamera / Sport Turismo 971 2.9 exhaust in detail.
An accomplished sports saloon, the Panamera 971 combines a remarkable chassis with efficient forced-induction engines, at the cost of total acoustic discretion. This page concerns its 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 version, for the 2018 to 2023 model years. The page names neither the 4S suffix nor a hybrid version: your VIN lets us check compatibility before manufacturing. The 3.0-litre V6 and the 4.0-litre V8 have their own pages.
A Porsche of this calibre deserves to let you hear where it comes from, on demand. As standard, the twin-turbo V6 is only a murmur behind the silence of the cabin. With the valves open, the Rog cat-back brings up a deep, muscular tone under load, punctuated by crackles on lift-off; with the valves closed, the original silence returns, intact, for family journeys.
The catalysed downpipe that follows the turbos is replaced under the “Manifold” option. It only adds power with an ECU remap, the result depending on the car and the tuner; fitted alone, it works on the voice. Its 200-cell version leaves emissions control as it is.
Under the saloon, fitting needs no welding: clamps, gaskets and about two hours on a lift. The Panamera’s factory valves keep their control through the drive modes, otherwise the Rog remote takes charge from the cabin. 304 stainless steel or titanium, around 40% lighter for the same design, in brushed, gold or purple; the four round tips come in chrome, gloss black or blued titanium.

Questions about the Porsche Panamera / Sport Turismo 971 2.9 V6 biturbo exhaust.
Does my Panamera 4S 971 correspond to this 2.9 page?
Our page refers to the Panamera 971 2.9 without the 4S suffix. So we check against your car’s VIN before building, rather than extending the system to a version it does not name.
Can the Panamera 971 2.9 be remapped after fitting the downpipe?
Yes, that is precisely what turns the freed-up flow into power, with a recalibration of the post-cat sensor. Our page publishes no usable Stage 2 figure for this version; the cat-back alone, for its part, works without tuning.
My Panamera 971 2.9 is going for its vehicle inspection: what should stay original?
Valves closed, with the factory or 200-cell downpipe: stock sound, emissions control retained. A 100-cell downpipe is a matter for the vehicle and your country’s rules, which accept it or not, while without a catalytic converter the saloon is confined to the circuit, the only use this version is reserved for.
My Panamera 971 is a plug-in hybrid: does this page apply to me?
Our sources do not extend this system to the hybrid versions. Send us your car’s VIN: we will look at which system matches it before any manufacturing.
Does the Panamera Sport Turismo take the same system as the saloon?
Yes. The Panamera 971 and the Panamera Sport Turismo take the same Rog system, with the same engine and the same clamp-and-gasket fitting. The long-wheelbase Executive versions are not covered. Your VIN confirms the version before manufacturing.
Porsche Panamera / Sport Turismo 971 2.9 V6 biturbo: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
