The Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid 971 exhaust in detail.
Under the bonnet of the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid 971, a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, with its turbos housed in the vee, works together with an electric motor: a combined 680 hp and 850 Nm in the first specification, then 700 hp and 870 Nm. The electric torque fills in the gaps of the combustion engine, and the thrust becomes immediate. The 2018 to 2023 model years are covered, and each saloon is checked against its VIN before manufacturing.
On a hybrid of this power, the V8 carries all the emotional side, but its deep voice, a muffled pulse at idle and a furious climb, alternates with electric silence and stays muted even when the combustion engine is working. With the valves open, the Rog cat-back turns the switch from electric to V8 into a real moment, with a full rumble every time you accelerate; with the valves closed, the Panamera keeps its refinement.
On the combustion side, the “Manifold” option replaces the V8’s catalysed downpipe. With an ECU remap, our page quotes 780 hp and 1,000 Nm in Stage 2 for the 680 hp version; without a new map, the part acts on the voice, not the power, and its 200-cell version lets the hybrid clean its emissions just as it did from the factory.
The hybrid drivetrain is not touched: the system is secured with clamps and gaskets, no welding, in about two hours. The factory valves stay controlled by the drive modes, with the Rog remote used on cars without valves. Titanium, around 40% lighter than 304 stainless steel for the same design, comes in brushed, gold or purple, and the E-Hybrid’s round tips can be chosen in chrome, gloss black or blued titanium.

Questions about the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid 971 4.0 V8 exhaust.
In electric mode, does the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid stay silent?
Yes: without combustion, nothing passes through the exhaust, and the saloon drives in silence just as it did from the factory. The Rog system only comes into play when the V8 takes over, valves open or closed as you choose.
ECU remap and downpipe on a Turbo S E-Hybrid 971: what potential?
For the 680 hp version, our page publishes 780 hp and 1,000 Nm at Stage 2. The 700 hp version shows figures in US units, not reproduced here; the cat-back alone works without a map.
Which configuration should be presented at vehicle inspection with a Turbo S E-Hybrid?
Valves closed and factory or 200-cell downpipe: the sound stays close to stock and emissions control intact. For a 100-cell, acceptance will depend on the vehicle and your country’s rules; a Turbo S E-Hybrid without a catalytic converter falls under track-only use.
Does the Rog system also fit a non-hybrid Panamera 971 V8?
No, each version has its own page: the non-hybrid Panamera 971 with the 4.0-litre V8 has its own. The VIN sent with your order points us to the right system.
Does the Panamera Sport Turismo take the same system as the saloon?
Yes. The Panamera 971 and the Panamera Sport Turismo take the same Rog system, with the same engine and the same clamp-and-gasket fitting. The long-wheelbase Executive versions are not covered. Your VIN confirms the version before manufacturing.
Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid 971 4.0 V8: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
