The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 2.9 V6 exhaust in detail.
Under the bonnet of the Giulia Quadrifoglio sits a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 designed by engineers from Maranello, readily described as a Ferrari V8 minus two cylinders. It is rated at 510 hp and 600 Nm, and its natural voice is hoarse, almost brassy. The standard exhaust only lets part of it through: you sense the pedigree, you do not really hear it.
The Rog valved cat-back, or valve exhaust depending on the vocabulary, brings this V6 back to the fore: it rumbles at idle, howls at high revs and cracks sharply on the overrun when the valves are open. Closed again, they let the family saloon take over, at a level close to stock. Built to your VIN for the 2016 to 2018 Quadrifoglio, the system fits in about two hours, without welding, with clamps and gaskets: factory control if the car has its factory valves, the Rog remote otherwise.
After the turbos, the downpipe carries the catalytic converter: it is the second restriction after the silencer, and this page sells it under the “Manifold” option. Without an ECU remap, replacing it changes the sound and slightly lightens the whole system, without adding horsepower; with a Stage 2 tune, published figures for this V6 reach 588 hp and 735 Nm. On the Quadrifoglio, the 200-cell version keeps the factory emissions control, the 100-cell will be accepted or not depending on the vehicle and your country’s rules, and the decat version is reserved for track use, on a closed circuit and never on the open road. In 304 stainless steel or in titanium, around 40% lighter and offered in brushed, gold or purple, the system keeps the four round tailpipes that are the Quadrifoglio’s signature.

Questions about the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 2.9 V6 exhaust.
Can a 2019 or newer Giulia Quadrifoglio V6 take this exhaust?
It is designed for the 2016 to 2018 Quadrifoglio. For a more recent car, do not take it for granted: send us the VIN and we check before manufacturing. The Giulia 2.0 Turbo and the facelifted Stelvio Quadrifoglio have their own pages.
Does the Quadrifoglio’s V6 2.9 need an ECU remap to make the most of the system?
For the sound, no: the cat-back works on a factory ECU. For power, yes: it is the ECU remap, combined with the downpipe, that takes the 2.9 V6 towards the 588 hp and 735 Nm published for Stage 2.
Which configuration should be kept to present a Giulia Quadrifoglio V6 at vehicle inspection?
Closed valves and the original catalytic converter, or the 200-cell downpipe: the V6 then finds a saloon’s voice again. With the 100-cell, the outcome depends on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version never leaves the track.
304 stainless steel or titanium: which to choose for the Giulia Quadrifoglio’s V6?
304 stainless steel gives a full sound and shrugs off winters. Titanium, around 40% lighter for the same design, brings out the V6’s metallic side at high revs and comes in brushed, gold or purple.
Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 2.9 V6: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 2.9 V6: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
