The Audi S4 and S5 B8 3.0 TFSI exhaust in detail.
Ever-present torque, flexibility, reliability: the 3.0 TFSI in the S4 and S5 B8 is a supercharged V6, rated at 333 hp and 440 Nm. Audi tuned it for performance without ostentation, and the factory exhaust takes that logic almost to the point of silence. The page covers 2013 to 2016; the older S5 with the V8 4.2, and the S4 or S5 B9, have their own system.
Freed by our valved cat-back, also known as a valve exhaust, the V6 reveals a deep, muscular sound that the factory version does not even hint at, with an assertive character under load and crisp crackles on the overrun. When closed, the valves send the gases back through the silencer and the original discretion returns, intact. Two personalities in a single car.
Four round exits, clamps, gaskets: the system fits without welding in about two hours. Does your S4 or S5 have factory valves? The drive modes continue to control them. Otherwise, the Rog remote, whose box is hidden in the boot, opens and closes them on demand.
The “Manifold” option on the page replaces the front section of the exhaust, the one that carries the catalytic converters. Of the three versions sold for this supercharged V6, only the 200-cell catalysed one fully keeps the emissions control of a road-going S4; the 100-cell one is accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is reserved for track use. As long as the engine management is not modified, this part enriches the sound and lightens the system slightly, but the V6 keeps its 333 hp. In titanium, the system weighs around 40% less than in 304 stainless steel for the same design, and comes in brushed, gold or purple.

Questions about the Audi S4 / S5 B8 3.0 TFSI V6 exhaust.
S4 Avant, S5 Sportback or B8 convertible: are they compatible?
The S4 Avant and the S5 convertible, yes: the S4 Avant takes the same Rog system as the S4 saloon, and the S5 convertible the same as the S5 coupé. For an S5 Sportback, send us the VIN before ordering: we check before manufacturing. The V8-engined S5 has a separate page.
How far can a remapped S4 B8 3.0 TFSI go?
As long as only the cat-back is fitted, the supercharger keeps its factory setting. With the front section and a suitable map at an approved centre, the published Stage 2 figures for this 333 hp V6 reach 441 hp and 546 Nm.
S5 B8 V6 and vehicle inspection: in which configuration should it be presented?
Remember to close the valves: the V6 becomes as discreet as from the factory again. As long as the S5 keeps the cat-back alone or a 200-cell front section, its catalytic converters treat the gases normally. For a 100-cell, everything depends on the vehicle and your country’s rules, whereas a decat S5 no longer leaves the circuit.
Does the S4 B8 fitted with the system drone at a steady speed?
With the valves closed, the exhaust flows through the silencer, designed for cruising: no resonance at 130 km/h. You open them when you feel like it, without the motorway forcing it on you.
Audi S4 / S5 B8 3.0 TFSI V6: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
