The BMW X4 F26 3.0T exhaust in detail.
The X4 F26 xDrive35i entrusts its coupé SUV profile to the N55, a 3.0-litre inline-six with a single twin-scroll turbo and direct injection: 306 hp and 400 Nm, with the smoothness that makes this layout so appealing and torque delivered very early. The guide presents a system shared with the X4 F26 2.0T; the more powerful version, the 360 hp X4 M40i F26, has its own page.
The N55 sings roundly, with an even tone that fills out with the revs, but the factory exhaust keeps it at a whisper, far from what an SUV with such a dynamic design promises. With the valves open, our cat-back lets you hear a deeper, broader inline-six, with a clean climb through the revs; with the valves closed, the X4 becomes the calm tourer you take out with the family again.
Fitting, without welding, relies on clamps and gaskets, in about two hours; the system arrives bent to your VIN, and its valves respond to the factory control or to the Rog remote.
Under the “Manifold” option, the N55’s downpipe and its catalytic converter only bring power with a map; on its own, it plays on sound and weight. The xDrive35i keeps its catalytic converter active with the 200-cell downpipe; if the 100-cell one tempts you, note that it is accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, the decat version being reserved for track use. As for material, 304 stainless steel supports the inline-six’s bass, titanium brightens it and removes around 40% of the mass.

Questions about the BMW X4 F26 3.0T exhaust.
X4 xDrive35i or X4 M40i F26: which page should I choose?
The 306 hp xDrive35i falls under this one; the M40i, pushed to 360 hp, has its own page. If in doubt, your VIN lets us decide before manufacturing.
What is the potential of the xDrive35i F26 once remapped?
Yes: the page publishes 368 hp and 557 Nm with a downpipe and an ECU remap at an approved tuner; with the cat-back alone, the factory engine management stays in place.
BMW X4 N55 F26 3.0T with a Rog exhaust: what should you know about vehicle inspection?
With the cat-back only or the 200-cell sports catalytic converter, emissions control is retained: present the car with the valves closed. The 100-cell brings more sound and flow, and whether it is accepted at the emissions test depends on the car and local rules; the decat version is intended for track use.
Will an X4 F26 3.0T resonate on the motorway?
Not with the valves closed: the cruising silencer does its work, and the coupé SUV stays composed at a steady speed; you only open them on your own initiative.
Does the X4 F26’s inline-six sound better in titanium?
Clearer at high revs, yes, with around 40% less weight for the same design; 304 stainless steel keeps a deeper roundness, appreciated on this engine.
BMW X4 F26 3.0T: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
BMW X4 F26 3.0T: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
