    BMWX6 G06

The BMW X6 M50i G06 exhaust in detail.

The X6 M50i G06 takes the coupé SUV logic all the way: a provocative silhouette, xDrive and an M Performance version of the N63, a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8, 530 hp and 750 Nm. The massive torque, available almost immediately, erases the size and delivers sports car acceleration. Our page covers it from 2019 to 2022, before the arrival of the facelifted M60i, described elsewhere like the X6 40i.

On paper, everything points to a spectacular car; to the ear, the factory exhaust filters this V8 to the point of making it anonymous, far from its naturally thick, muffled voice. With the valves open, the Rog cat-back makes the start-up rumble and gives full, deep climbs through the revs, in keeping with the silhouette; with the valves closed, your X6 keeps the serenity of a large premium SUV. Two personalities, a single gesture.

No welding or cutting: the system, bent to your VIN, is fixed with clamps and gaskets in about two hours, and the valves follow the factory control or the Rog remote.

As for the “Manifold” option, here it sells the section extending the V8’s turbos, which only yields horsepower with a map entrusted to an N63 specialist; on its own, it enriches the voice and saves a little weight. The X6 M50i keeps its emissions control if you take it catalysed at 200 cells; at 100 cells, it is accepted or not depending on the vehicle and your country’s rules, and the decat version is reserved for track use. The cat-back, for its part, is ordered in 304 stainless steel or titanium.

    Questions about the BMW X6 M50i G06 4.4TT exhaust.

My X6 is a facelifted M60i: does the M50i system suit it?

We treat the M60i as a separate variant, without extrapolation; it has its own page, and this one is for the 2019 to 2022 X6 M50i G06.

What does an X6 M50i become at Stage 2?

The page publishes 700 hp and 980 Nm, with front section and ECU remap on an engine in good condition; the cat-back on its own works with the factory engine management.

What approach should you take with a modified X6 M50i at vehicle inspection?

Keep it simple: engine idling behind closed valves, original or 200-cell catalysed front section, and the coupé SUV cannot be told apart from a showroom model; the 100-cell is accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is reserved for track use.

Why does an X6 M50i’s V8 seem anonymous from the factory?

Because its turbos, placed in the centre of the engine, and a heavily muffled system erase its voice; our cat-back lets it return with the valves open, without modifying the engine.

Is titanium the better choice on such an imposing coupé SUV?

It makes the system around 40% lighter for the same design and brightens the V8’s note; 304 stainless steel keeps a thicker bass, often preferred on this type of engine.

    BMW X6 M50i G06 4.4TT: Does a valved exhaust system drone?

No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.

    BMW X6 M50i G06 4.4TT: straight pipe or resonator?

On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
