The Lexus IS500 XE30 V8 5.0 exhaust in detail.
The IS500 carries the torch for a V8 that has become rare: the 2UR-GSE, a 5.0-litre naturally aspirated engine raised here to 479 hp and 536 Nm in the XE30 saloon. Lexus persists with a carefully assembled high-revving engine where the competition has moved to turbos, and the factory exhaust holds a great deal of it back.
For now, our parts only cover the 2025 model year of the IS500, and each system is built to the car’s VIN, checked before production. Its 2UR-GSE-powered sisters, the IS F, RC F, GS F and LC500, are handled separately, with different systems. With the valves open, the Rog valved cat-back lets the V8 gain presence from idle, then rise in an increasingly pure crescendo; with them closed, the saloon regains the discretion of a standard Lexus.
No welding for installation: clamps, gaskets and about two hours. If the IS500 has its factory valves, their control is retained; otherwise, the Rog remote, whose box sits in the boot, opens and closes them.
The manifolds sold under the “Manifold” option are shared by the 2UR-GSE in the IS500, RC F and GS F, with integrated catalytic converter. Combined with an ECU remap, they bring a real but modest gain, around 3 to 8%, and without one mainly voice. In 200-cell form, the IS500 keeps its emissions control; in 100-cell form, it is accepted or not depending on the vehicle and your country’s rules; decat, it stays within track use, for which this version is reserved. The stacked round black tips, the IS500’s signature, sit at the end of a system in 304 stainless steel or titanium, the latter around 40% lighter and available in three colours, from brushed to purple.

Questions about the Lexus IS500 XE30 V8 5.0 exhaust.
Can a Lexus IS500 XE30 from a model year before 2025 take this exhaust?
Our parts are only listed for the 2025 IS500; for an older saloon, compatibility is not established in advance, and it is your VIN, checked before manufacturing, that settles it.
Does the IS500 XE30 fitted with the system lose anything if the factory map is kept?
Nothing: the cat-back works with the factory management and leaves the 479 hp intact. An ECU remap is only worthwhile with the manifolds, and on this naturally aspirated V8 it remains a matter of a few per cent.
On vehicle inspection day, which settings should be checked on an IS500 XE30?
Two things: the valves, to be closed to get back to a level close to the stock saloon, and the manifolds, original or 200-cell so that emissions control works. A 100-cell will be judged according to your country and the car, with the decat version remaining reserved for the track.
Are the IS500 XE30’s manifolds the same as the RC F’s?
Yes: same engine, same manifolds, and specialist manufacturers fit them interchangeably on the IS500, RC F and GS F. The cat-back, however, follows the IS500’s body, hence a dedicated page.
Lexus IS500 XE30 V8 5.0: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
Lexus IS500 XE30 V8 5.0: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.

Lexus IS 500: bringing out the naturally aspirated V8, the complete guide
The IS 500 is a wonderful anachronism: a naturally aspirated 5.0 V8 in a compact saloon, in the middle of the downsizing era. That act of resistance deserves its full soundtrack, the one that the factory exhaust holds back. Here...
