    A question about this exhaust?

    MercedesE-Class W213

    The Mercedes-Benz E300 W213 / S213 exhaust in detail.

A large touring saloon, the 2016 to 2023 E300 W213 relies on a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with direct injection: 245 hp at launch, 258 hp after the facelift, and 370 Nm available from low revs. Enough to move the E-Class with ease, and frugal on long stages.

Its voice is deep and even at idle, then takes on a drier grain as the turbo starts to blow. The factory system wraps it up to the point that it disappears behind the silence of the cabin. With the valves open, the Rog cat-back gives it a more assertive start-up and more character when overtaking; with them closed, the serenity typical of the E-Class returns for long-distance journeys.

Fitting without welding, with clamps and gaskets, in about two hours; the system is built for your VIN. Factory control kept if the saloon has one, the Rog remote otherwise. The E43, E53 and E63 AMG of the W213 generation, like the E300 W214 that succeeds it, have their own pages.

The “Manifold” option refers to the four-cylinder’s downpipe, a part shared with the CLS350 C257 according to specialist manufacturers. With 200 cells, nothing changes for emissions control, making it the logical version for a touring saloon. More open, the 100-cell will be accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country; the decat part, reserved for track use, makes little sense on an everyday E300. The page publishes no Stage 2 for this engine, and without an ECU remap the part only brings sound. 304 stainless steel is the most popular choice on a saloon of this type; titanium weighs around 40% less.

    Questions about the Mercedes-Benz E300 W213 / S213 2.0 turbo exhaust.

    Can an E200, E250 or E350 W213 take the E300’s exhaust?

Our reference only mentions the E300 with the 2.0-litre turbo engine, listed for the 2016 to 2023 model years. The other versions are not proven: send us the VIN and we check before manufacturing rather than assuming.

Does the E300 W213 keep its original ECU?

Yes with the cat-back alone. For the downpipe, an ECU remap turns the flow into power; the page publishes no Stage 2 figure for the E300, so the result depends on the tuner and the version, 245 or 258 hp.

Does an E300 W213 fitted with the system need preparing before the vehicle inspection?

It only needs to keep the cat-back alone or a 200-cell downpipe, valves closed: emissions control is as from the factory and the sound stays hushed. With a 100-cell downpipe, the outcome depends on the car and your country’s rules. Without a catalytic converter, the part is reserved for track use and is therefore not taken to the test centre.

Does the E300 S213 estate take the same system as the saloon?

Yes, from 2019: the E300 S213 estate only exists after the facelift, and it then takes the same Rog system as the W213 saloon, with the same clamp-and-gasket fitting. Your VIN confirms the version and model year before manufacturing.

On a long motorway journey, does the equipped E300 W213 / S213 become tiring because of drone?

With the valves closed, no: the silencer takes over and the big saloon stays calm at a steady speed. You open them for a clear road, then close them again with a single touch.
