The Porsche 911 Turbo 997.1 exhaust in detail.
The 997 Turbo is historically the quietest 911: Porsche calibrated its twin-turbo flat-six for total versatility, and the factory exhaust favours discretion. Many owners want to keep that civility while being able to step out of it. With the Rog cat-back, both remain possible: closed, the valves keep the Turbo’s silence; open, they let through a deep rumble, the breath of the two turbos and a few crackles when you lift off.
The system is for the 997.1-type 911 Turbo with the 3.6-litre twin-turbo engine, 480 hp and 620 Nm, 2006 to 2009 model years, the last compact format of the Turbo according to our guide. The Carrera 997.1 and the Turbo S 997.2 each have their own page; we use your VIN to check everything before manufacturing.
No front section comes with the 997.1 Turbo system, offered in 304 stainless steel or titanium. On its own, it transforms the voice and lightens the rear; the 551 hp and 767 Nm quoted in Stage 2 on our page assume a full tune. Choosing titanium means saving around 40% in weight for the same design and a more metallic note at high revs, finished in brushed, gold or purple.
Fitting, without welding or cutting, is done with clamps and gaskets in about two hours. Factory valves retained if your Turbo has them, otherwise the Rog remote: a unit in the boot, two buttons, and the best of both worlds at your fingertips. Three tip finishes, from chrome to blued titanium by way of gloss black, sign off the rear.

Questions about the Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 type 997.1 exhaust.
My 911 Turbo 997 is a phase 2: does this page cover it?
No: it targets the 3.6-litre 997.1 Turbo, from 2006 to 2009. Only the 997.2 Turbo S currently has its own page; for a 997.2 Turbo, your VIN lets us check what is possible before manufacturing.
Is an ECU remap needed for the 997.1 Turbo?
No, the system works with the original ECU. Those who want more can aim for the Stage 2 figures published on the page, 551 hp and 767 Nm, with a complete tune that goes beyond our system alone.
What precaution for the vehicle inspection of a 997.1 Turbo?
Present it with the valves closed, in its legendary discretion, as close as possible to the factory sound. For any question about the emissions control of your particular car, write to us before ordering: we answer case by case.
Does the 997.1 Turbo remain a grand tourer with the system?
Yes, with the valves closed: the silencer, designed for cruising, prevents any drone at a steady speed. The Turbo keeps its motorway comfort, and you open the valves at the exit, for a road that suits.
Coupé or convertible: does the 911 Turbo 3.6 997.1 take the same system?
Yes. On the 911 Turbo 3.6 997.1, coupé and convertible share the flat-six and the same Rog system, fitted with clamps and gaskets. Your VIN is only used to confirm the version and model year before manufacturing.
Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 type 997.1: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
