The Porsche 911 Turbo S 991.1 exhaust in detail.
All-wheel drive that turns every acceleration into a catapult, 560 hp and 750 Nm, and almost nothing to hear: the 911 Turbo S 991.1 is a paradox. The turbos already dampen the sound and the factory exhaust, 14.2 kg according to our page, smooths out everything else. With the valves open, the Rog cat-back brings the flat-six into the cabin: an assertive start-up, a climb through the revs you can finally follow, expressive lift-offs. With the valves closed, back to hushed grand touring.
The page is for the Turbo S 991.1, a 3.8-litre flat-six with two variable-geometry turbos, 2013 to 2016 model years. The Turbo S 991.2 and the Carrera 991.1 have their own pages, and your VIN lets us validate compatibility before manufacturing.
The system is sold here on its own, with no front section option, in 304 stainless steel or titanium. On its own, it acts on the voice and the weight; the 630 hp and 840 Nm our page shows in Stage 2 come from a full tune, well beyond an exhaust system. Compared with the 14.2 kg of the factory exhaust, titanium, around 40% lighter than stainless steel for the same design, can be ordered in brushed, gold or purple.
At the workshop, about two hours on a lift, clamps and gaskets, no welding. The Turbo S’s factory valves keep their control; in their absence, the Rog remote replaces it. The tips can be chosen in chrome, gloss black or blued titanium, for a more or less pronounced signature at the rear of the Turbo S.

Questions about the Porsche 911 Turbo S 3.8 type 991.1 exhaust.
Is the system for my Turbo S 991.1 the same as for the 991.2?
The Rog guide covers both phases together, but each has its own page: this one is for the 2013 to 2016 991.1 and offers no front section, unlike the 991.2 page. Your VIN, reviewed before manufacturing, removes any ambiguity between the two phases.
Does a Turbo S 991.1 need an ECU remap to fit the system?
No visit to a tuner is needed: the system works with the factory engine management. The page quotes 630 hp and 840 Nm in Stage 2 for this version, figures that assume a full tune going well beyond the cat-back.
Vehicle inspection for a modified 991.1 Turbo S: what do I need to know?
On test day, with the valves closed, the 911 returns to the hushed sound of the standard car. As the page sells no front section, the question of 100-cell or decat does not arise for this version, and the factory front section stays in place.
On the motorway, does the equipped Turbo S 991.1 resonate?
Not with the valves closed: the flow then passes through the silencer chambers, and the Turbo S stays hushed at a constant speed. It keeps its calling as a grand tourer, built for long distances.
Coupé or convertible: does the 911 Turbo S 3.8 991.1 take the same system?
Yes. On the 911 Turbo S 3.8 991.1, coupé and convertible share the flat-six and the same Rog system, fitted with clamps and gaskets. Your VIN is only used to confirm the version and model year before manufacturing.
Porsche 911 Turbo S 3.8 type 991.1: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
Porsche 911 Turbo S 3.8 type 991.1: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.

Porsche 911 Turbo S 991.1 and 991.2: the catapult you can hear, the exhaust system guide
The 911 Turbo S 991.1 and 991.2 are benchmarks among sports cars you can use every day: a 3.8-litre biturbo flat-six, 560 then 580 hp, and all-wheel drive that turns every acceleration into a catapult launch. The paradox: their factory...
