The Porsche 911 Turbo S 991.2 exhaust in detail.
The second phase of the 911 Turbo S 991 carries the 580 hp 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six, with 700 Nm, for the 2017 to 2019 model years. Two variable-geometry turbos, a surprisingly sharp response for a forced-induction engine, and thrust that does not fade all the way to the limiter. The Turbo S 991.1 and the Carrera S / 4S 991.2 have their own page; your VIN confirms yours before manufacturing.
Beneath its two turbos, the flat-six keeps an inimitable accent, a hoarse rumble with a slightly limping rhythm mixed with the whoosh of forced induction. As standard, that accent stays locked away: the Turbo S accelerates with an almost unsettling calm. With the valves open, the Rog cat-back releases it; with the valves closed, the car returns to its grand touring calling.
Unlike phase 1, the 991.2 page offers the catalysed downpipe, under the “Manifold” option. With an ECU remap, it opens the way to the 672 hp and 840 Nm published in Stage 2; without one, it brings sound and a little lightness, not power. In 200-cell form, the factory emissions control is retained.
No welding: clamps and gaskets, about two hours on a lift. The valves keep their factory control if they exist, otherwise the Rog remote operates them. Titanium is the obvious choice for lightening the rear of the Turbo S, around 40% lighter than 304 stainless steel for the same design, in brushed, gold or purple; the tips come in chrome, gloss black or blued titanium.

Questions about the Porsche 911 Turbo S 3.8 type 991.2 exhaust.
Turbo S 991.1 or 991.2: how do I identify mine?
The 991.1 covers 2013 to 2016 with 560 hp, the 991.2 2017 to 2019 with 580 hp; only the 991.2 page offers the downpipe. If there is any doubt, the VIN sent with the order lets us decide before manufacturing.
Downpipe fitted on the Turbo S 991.2: what can the map add afterwards?
Our page shows 672 hp and 840 Nm at Stage 2 for this phase, 92 hp more than stock. The ECU remap converts the freed-up flow into power and adjusts the sensor located after the catalytic converter.
Vehicle inspection coming up: how should the 991.2 Turbo S be prepared?
A car with its valves closed, sound close to stock, with the original or 200-cell downpipe: emissions control stays as it was from the factory. If you have opted for the 100-cell downpipe, it will be accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, which is worth checking before the appointment. In decat form, the Turbo S is reserved for track use.
Can the engine warning light come on with the downpipe on a Turbo S 991.2?
With a sport downpipe, the sensor located after the catalytic converter measures different emissions control from stock, which can trigger the warning light. Nothing serious: the ECU remap takes it into account, and clearing the code with a diagnostic tool fixes a one-off fault.
Coupé or convertible: does the 911 Turbo S 3.8 991.2 take the same system?
Yes. On the 911 Turbo S 3.8 991.2, coupé and convertible share the flat-six and the same Rog system, fitted with clamps and gaskets. Your VIN is only used to confirm the version and model year before manufacturing.
Porsche 911 Turbo S 3.8 type 991.2: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
Porsche 911 Turbo S 3.8 type 991.2: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.

Porsche 911 Turbo S 991.1 and 991.2: the catapult you can hear, the exhaust system guide
