    Porsche911 992

The Porsche 911 Turbo S 992.1 exhaust in detail.

The Turbo S 992.1 accelerates harder than hypercars from ten years ago, in near-total silence: 650 hp and 800 Nm, a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six and a 14.9 kg factory exhaust designed for discretion. That is the Turbo’s trademark, and many owners want to keep it while being able to summon the engine at the press of a button. That is exactly what the valves of the Rog cat-back allow.

Open the valves, and the flat-six finally rumbles, deep and technical, with the whoosh of the turbos and crackles on the overrun. With the valves closed, the Turbo’s legendary discretion is fully preserved. The page covers the Turbo S for model years 2020 to 2025; the regular Turbo is not yet documented in our records, and your VIN lets us check before manufacturing. The other 992.1 models in the range, from the Carrera to the GT3 RS, have their own pages.

This engine’s front part is a catalysed downpipe, sold under the “Manifold” option. It only produces horsepower with an ECU remap, which according to our page targets 730 hp and 950 Nm in Stage 2; without a map, it changes the sound, not the power. Its 200-cell version keeps emissions control.

Installation under the Turbo S takes about two hours, with no welding, using clamps and gaskets. Factory valves retained with their modes, or the Rog remote. 304 stainless steel with a full sound or titanium around 40% lighter for the same design, the latter in brushed, gold or purple.

Questions about the Porsche 911 Turbo S 3.8 type 992.1 exhaust.

Can a 911 Turbo 992 without the S take this exhaust?

Our page names the Turbo S alone. We do not automatically extend it to the regular Turbo, nor do we rule it out: its VIN lets us check compatibility before starting manufacturing.

How far can a Turbo S 992.1 go with downpipe and ECU remap?

With a downpipe and a new map, our page quotes 730 hp and 950 Nm in Stage 2, that is 150 Nm more torque. The map also recalibrates the post-catalyst sensor; the cat-back alone needs nothing of the kind.

Which Turbo S 992.1 configuration should be taken to the vehicle inspection?

In its most sensible configuration: valves closed, original or 200-cell downpipe for unchanged emissions control. A 100-cell downpipe will be accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, while the decat Turbo S remains reserved for track use.

Can you keep a Turbo S quiet day to day?

That is the whole principle: with the valves closed, the car stays as discreet as stock, with no drone at a steady speed. You open them when you decide, with a press on the remote or through the drive modes if the car has factory valves.

Coupé or convertible: does the 911 Turbo S 3.8 992.1 take the same system?

Yes. On the 911 Turbo S 3.8 992.1, coupé and convertible share the flat-six and the same Rog system, fitted with clamps and gaskets. Your VIN is only used to confirm the version and model year before manufacturing.
