Which valved exhaust for a Porsche Cayenne 955 or 957?
The Rog system for the Porsche Cayenne 955 and 957 (2002-2010) is a valved cat-back exhaust in 304 stainless steel or titanium, built to your VIN, which identifies the engine before production. Valves open, the Cayenne gains a deep rumble that thickens under load; closed, it goes back to being the discreet SUV of the daily commute.
Sound, options and fitting in detail: our Porsche Cayenne 955 / 957 guide.
The first Cayenne, types 955 then 957, covered the 2002 to 2010 model years with several engines, naturally aspirated and forced-induction, and it is in V8 form that it ages with the most panache. The page gives 340 hp and 460 Nm as the factory figure, without specifying the version: so it is your VIN that will tell us which one is yours, before manufacturing. Its successor, the 958, has a separate page.
Its used prices make it an accessible Porsche SUV, and its engine has a generous voice that the period exhaust smothers. With the valves open, the Rog cat-back turns it into a deep rumble that thickens under load, punctuated by crackles when you lift off; with the valves closed, the Cayenne becomes completely discreet again for the family.
The page offers the catalysed front part under the “Manifold” option; depending on your Cayenne’s engine, it is either a downpipe or a manifold. Combined with an ECU remap, this part takes the reference figure to the 455 hp and 600 Nm published at Stage 2; without one, the first Cayenne mainly gains voice, and the 200-cell version keeps treating emissions.
For fitting, about two hours on a lift, clamps and gaskets, no welding. Factory valves retained if present, otherwise the Rog remote. 304 stainless steel stands up to salt and damp, titanium weighs around 40% less for the same design and comes in brushed, gold or purple; tips in chrome, gloss black or blued titanium.

Questions about the Porsche Cayenne 955 / 957 exhaust.
My Cayenne 957 is a Turbo: does this page apply to me?
Both phases of the first Cayenne, from 2002 to 2010, appear on this page, without it specifying the versions covered beyond its 340 hp figure. For a Turbo as for the others, we check the VIN for the system and front part suited to your engine.
What does the page publish at Stage 2 for the Cayenne 955 / 957?
455 hp and 600 Nm, up from 340 hp and 460 Nm stock, with the sport front section and a full ECU remap. Without the front section, the Cayenne’s ECU stays standard.
A first modified Cayenne: how should the vehicle inspection be approached?
Close the valves: the 955 or 957 regains its factory discretion. With the original or 200-cell front part, emissions control is maintained; with the 100-cell, acceptance depends on the car and the rules in your country, and a decat Cayenne is strictly for track use.
Downpipe or manifold: which front part for my Cayenne 955 / 957?
It depends on the engine: on forced-induction versions it is a downpipe; on naturally aspirated ones, a manifold. The page offers both under the same “Manifold” option, and your VIN tells us which one applies to you.
Porsche Cayenne 955 / 957: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
