The Porsche Cayenne Turbo 9YA / 9YB exhaust in detail.
The Turbo name carries a lot of history at Porsche, and the Cayenne 9YA lives up to it: a 4.0-litre V8 with its two turbos nestled between the cylinder banks, 550 hp and 770 Nm sent to all four wheels, for the 2018 to 2023 model years. This layout shortens the gas path and improves response. The GTS and the Turbo GT have their own page; your VIN lets us check compatibility before manufacturing.
With its turbos at the heart of the engine, this V8 already filters part of its pulses, and the factory exhaust finishes smoothing them out: the characteristic burble of a cross-plane eight-cylinder can only be heard at full load, and barely then. With the valves open, the Rog cat-back delivers a deep start-up, deep-chested acceleration and properly vocal downshifts; with the valves closed, the Cayenne Turbo goes back to being the SUV that is silent on the motorway and discreet in town.
To go beyond sound, the page replaces the catalysed downpipe following the Cayenne Turbo’s turbos under the “Manifold” option. On this turbocharged V8, it is the real power lever, but only with an ECU remap; without one, the gain is in sound and weight, and only the 200-cell version maintains standard emissions control.
Nothing is welded under the Cayenne Turbo: clamps and gaskets, about two hours on a lift, then the valves follow either the factory control or the Rog remote. As for the material, 304 stainless steel for robustness, titanium for around 40% less weight for the same design, in brushed, gold or purple; tips in chrome, gloss black or blued titanium.

Questions about the Porsche Cayenne Turbo 9YA / 9YB 4.0 V8 biturbo exhaust.
My Cayenne is a Turbo E-Hybrid 9YA: does this page apply to it?
The page is for the Cayenne Turbo 9YA with the 550 hp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, with no hybrid version mentioned in our sources. Send us the VIN: we check what is possible before any manufacturing.
What place for an ECU remap on a Cayenne Turbo 9YA?
It is not needed for the cat-back. With the downpipe, it turns the freed-up flow into power and recalibrates the post-catalyst sensor; as our sources publish differing Stage 2 figures, we do not quote any here.
My fitted Cayenne Turbo 9YA has its vehicle inspection coming up: which configuration?
With the valves closed, the V8 fades away almost as much as from the factory. The factory front section or the 200-cell downpipe keep emissions control; a 100-cell downpipe is accepted or not depending on the vehicle and your country’s rules, and the decat version is reserved for track use.
Why can you hear so little of the standard Cayenne Turbo?
Because its two turbos, nestled in the V, already filter the pulses, and the factory system, designed for the comfort of a family SUV, finishes the job. The Rog system restores that depth when you open the valves.
Does the Cayenne Turbo Coupé 9YB take the same system as the SUV?
Yes. The Cayenne Turbo 9YA and the Cayenne Turbo Coupé 9YB take the same Rog system, with the same 4.0 twin-turbo V8 and the same fitting. The only exception: the centre-exit sports exhaust offered as an option on the Coupé (Lightweight Sports Package); your VIN lets us spot it before manufacturing.
Porsche Cayenne Turbo 9YA / 9YB 4.0 V8 biturbo: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
